The Eagle

Features a short beak with a strong down curve, ears and the body or wings, as in most birds, contain feather forms. The eagle was a totem that held power and prestige. It is one of the two main Haida crests and many families on the west coast still own the right to use it. Many myths and legends surround the eagle, the down of which is a symbol of peace and friendship. It is sprinkled before guests in welcome dances.
