Killerwhales

Some native legends compare the Orca (Killer Whale) to the Wolf and refer to them as “Sea Wolves”. It is understandable when you compare the two species. They both have strong family ties. Wolves travel and hunt in packs, orcas in pods. A young wolf pup, orphaned for whatever reason, is not abandoned but adopted by another female, as is the case with orcas. Finally, many of the markings on the face and body of the wolf are almost identical. This comparison brings new meaning to the image of the “Killer Whale”.
